A Happy Journey of Learning by Doing

Our Experiential Learning Programme for Prep I and II runs from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon, led by trained educators to balance learning and fun. The programme begins each June with limited seats and optional enrollment on a first-come basis. Focused on self-paced, child-centred learning, it encourages discovery, exploration, and peer learning through activities like indoor/outdoor games, brain gym, art, puppetry, public speaking, and storytelling — all in a safe, happy, and assessment-free environment.

Dr. Kiran Pai

Dr. Kiran Pai (Ed.D.), Co-founder and Pro-Chancellor of Vidyashilp University, also directs Vidyashilp Academy, Vidyashilp School, and Vidyasagar Preschool. An Educational Psychologist with expertise in Instructional Design, she holds a Doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership and a Master’s in Learning Design and Technology from USC. Recipient of the 2021 Doctoral Distinction Award, 2020 Kappa Delta Pi Honors, and the World Education Congress’ 50 Innovative Leaders Award, she champions inclusive, future-focused learning.

Shilpa Pai

Shilpa Pai, Director of Vidyasagar Preschool and member of the governing body at Vidyashilp University, has been leading the preschool since 2014. With a background in Human Resources and personal coaching for corporate leaders, she brings expertise in strategy, administration, and operational excellence. Under her leadership, Vidyasagar Preschool has consistently ranked among the top preschools in Bengaluru, known for its strong academic foundation, child-centric culture, and emphasis on teacher competence. She has been instrumental in enhancing infrastructure, elevating teaching standards, and driving innovative educational programmes that keep pace with the evolving needs of learners and the community.

Ms. Shashikala C. Rananavare

Ms. Shashikala C. Rananavare has been the Principal of Vidyasagar Preschool, Hebbal since August 2017, bringing over 25 years of experience in early childhood education. She has led Vidyasagar to be recognised as one of Bangalore’s oldest, largest and most prestigious stand-alone preschool brands. Under her leadership, the preschool has received accolades such as the “Ideal Principal” award and excelled in creating a caring, curiosity-driven environment where children are encouraged to play, explore, and grow with

Ms. Radhika brings over 20 years of experience in education, teaching from preschool to high school, giving her deep insight into early childhood learning and beyond. At Vidyasagar Preschool, students engage in a transdisciplinary curriculum that revolves around literacy, numeracy, environmental science, second language, socio-emotional learning and co-curricular activities.

We are a feeder school to Vidyashilp Academy and Vidyashilp Schools, and students from Vidyasagar Preschool are eligible for preferential admission to the same. Please note that admission into Vidyashilp Academy or Vidyashilp School is subject to vacancy and student-preparedness, and is not guaranteed.

The admission process at Vidyasagar Preschool requires parents to meet the Principal and faculty before enrolling their students into the school. This offers the opportunity to interact with early student hood educators and find out more about the curriculum. The school also organizes regular parent and teacher meetings to ensure that parents are aware of the developments in school, and vice versa. For the parents who enroll into Vidyasagar Preschool, a detailed academic orientation is scheduled to give a deep insight into the curriculum.

Vidyasagar Preschool recommends that preschoolers be dropped and picked up by their parents/family members/guardians. The school does not provide or take onus of transport. However, each branch of Vidyasagar Preschool has tied up with some transport service providers. Relevant details and contact numbers are available at the respective branches. Parents are free to choose amongst these or other means of transport. Parents are expected to conduct verification checks and due diligence before engaging the services of these operators. The management of Vidyasagar Preschool will not be held responsible for any loss or conduct.

We believe in Parent-Teacher Partnership, hence, monthly Interactions are conducted for parents and teachers to discuss and understand their child's development and progress. However, parents can also book appointments beforehand and interact with the teachers.

The average teacher to student ratio is 1:15, which creates the right balance for teachers to offer individual attention to every student.

The Academic Year begins from June to March.
